Happy Birthday Mehgan!!
Carolina’s Notes
I woke up and threw on clothes because Tony wanted to go to Wildflower Bread Co. This bakery is a knock-off from Panera Bread apparently the owner use to work for Panera Bread Company in the early years. The old saying goes ‘The sincerest form of flattery is imitation’ aka copying you. Panera is still the best in my opinion. Anyway I ran out of the RV (Harry) raw meaning no make-up. I need to make sure that I wear my face while carrying my Mary Kay Bag. I am in business for myself as a Mary Kay Consultant so I have no days off I am always working. I took my products with me and put my face on in the lady’s restroom. I figured if someone asked about what I was putting onto my face then I could elaborate. Well we did our work and I enjoyed the coffee and the music.
We eventually got home to Harry (RV) and did some laundry. The weather is great and I’d like to bicycle. I may be able to convince Tony to get me out and work off my nervous pent up energy. I have several Mary Kay tasks that I haven’t completed yet so I probably won’t get out on the bike. Tony wasn’t receiving a good cell phone connection so he had to take off in the car to make calls. Meanwhile, I was completing tasks on my To-Do List; I managed to complete almost all so I was happy.
Once tasks were done and it was getting dark, I asked Tony to take me to see Monday Night Football. He was a good sport and agreed. We went to a place called Spirits and had a great time! We got some DQ then went home to Harry (RV). We relaxed the rest of the night until bed. We had a good productive day. I went to bed grateful for all I have.
Tony’s Notes
It was Monday, and I wanted to hit the ground and pound the pavement to find a short term gig in the Phoenix area. So, we got to the Wildflower Bread Company to have a Cinnamon Roll, Coffee, and to get some internet and phone work done.
I made contact with several recruiters and a few companies. However, locally, most of the opportunities were permanent full time jobs. I did make contacts and started working with a recruiter that I really liked talking to about future opportunities. My intention is to only be in the Phoenix area for a short time, unless contract work serviced quickly.
Unless I can find a short term contract engagement on the road, I know that we have to start making our way east, and then north into the cold. I fully expect to make it back to Michigan before Christmas because I do not expect very many clinical Healthcare IT projects to service until January. I have to get a specific minimum rate or it won’t make sense to work on the road; I have to be able to meet our monthly expenses. Our expenses go down considerable once we are home in Michigan, and the RV is winterized and stored until next spring (or our next sabbatical, whichever comes first).
I was able to get the ball rolling, but not necessarily for the Phoenix area. We enjoyed drinking beer and watching football at Spirit’s and had a good day in the Valley of the Sun.
