November 7th

Carolina’s Notes
I woke up and had to get ready for my 10:00 a.m. appointment. I was grateful for Tony’s people skills because he entertained my guest until I was able to dress. I was experiencing a wardrobe malfunction and I was quite embarrassed. Tony was great because he had no idea what was happening behind closed doors. He may have been wondering what in the H - - L I was doing. I finally came to a solution and entered the room and continued with my appointment. I enjoyed the time I spent with our neighbors here at Sky Valley RV Resort. We all visited and the time passed so quickly that once we looked at the time hours had passed. Lord knows that sometimes when I start talking I can go for hours. I thoroughly enjoyed my neighbor’s company. It was time well spent!

Once we said our good byes, Tony & I wanted to see downtown Palm Springs. We grabbed a bite to eat at the restaurant at Sky Valley RV Resort. We figured it could potentially save us money while in downtown. We arrived in downtown and walked the streets. We soaked in all the activity. Some of this activity is out the norm of Michigan life so we just observed and noted the differences. We did stop and tried some French Truffles (chocolate) then another stop was for espresso. We came upon Hollywood Walk of Fame Stars, a museum, and several shops. All the time we spent soaking in the local atmosphere. This isn’t downtown Detroit!

I was ready to get home. Tony and I were tempted to stay and have cocktails but I convinced Tony that we could pick up some items and enjoy being home. He mulled it over and then agreed. We had some tasks that he wanted to complete. We were able to get some of the tasks done before venturing home. Our day was fun! We arrived home and Tony prepared our cocktails and dinner while I completed some packing and computer tasks. The rest of the night I spent relaxing until it was time for bed. It was a GREAT day!

Tony’s Notes
It truly was another great day at Sky Valley RV Resort. I enjoyed walking through downtown Palm Springs. It was a little strange for me, because there were quite a few men walking around holding hands. I just was not used to seeing guys walking around holding hands. Later in the day, I found out that this particular weekend was the annual gay and lesbian pride festival. For me, it was just a bit strange. However, everyone was friendly, and Carolina and I enjoyed walking around town. I was glad we came home and had our own food. While in town we had walked through a couple small museums. One of them was full of very old general store type of items. While there I saw an old tin of Watkins Cinnamon, and Watkins Nutmeg. I also saw an old tin of Watkins Menthol Camphor Ointment. What is cool about that is that I sell Watkins products, and the tins at this museum were at least eighty years old. Being a Watkins Associate has been a good side business for building a good recurring income, and Watkins has been around since 1868.

I love this geographic location, and will definitely come back here one day to avoid a Michigan winter. I also thoroughly enjoyed talking with our new friends (and Carolina’s new Mary Kay customer). They gave us a couple of their CD’s and we have been enjoying listening to their music and message.
