October 3rd - Ocean Shores

Carolina’s Notes
We got up and took showers and really took the time to groom. We basically decided today was chore day. We got our laundry together and took it into a near by town called Ocean Shores. On the way back to Harry, we stopped and had a burger and a beer at the Green Lantern. We got home and flaked. I occupied my time watching what sports I could find, since I didn’t want to do computer work after having beer. We pretty much hung out in Harry and not completing any chores in Harry due to drinking the beer. It was ok by me because I didn’t have it in me to do housework. Later on Tony picked up pizza and we continued to flake; I flipped channels and Tony worked on the computer but had difficulty with the Internet connection. He also took a walk on the beach. I didn’t want to since falling into mucky water left me a little gun shy. I did fall in after drinking beer the last time. Anyway, the day came and went and Tony and I just enjoyed being with each other.

Tony’s Notes
It was just a relaxing day. We had driven to Ocean Shores to do laundry at a Laundromat. It is very interesting to me because I had not used Laundromats in many years until we started this journey. We were meeting a variety of normal, everyday people on the road. We always seemed to strike up conversations with people while doing our laundry. The cool thing is that we could do three or four loads of clothes within forty minutes. At home, it was a weekend chore that chewed up a bit more time.

That evening, like Carolina said, I took a walk on the beach, all by myself. Luckily it was not during high-tide. It was a full moon. I was very much at peace. The ocean was banging at the shores, and although noisy, I felt like it was very silent. It really gave me a few minutes of solitude and time to reflect.
