September 26th

Carolina’s Notes
Today Tony got up and took the clothes to the park laundromat. It was a surprise to me because he didn’t mention that he was going. He thought I was asleep but it was still uncharacteristic for him. We normally get up at the same time even though I may stay in bedroom while he showers. Anyway it made me feel like he wanted to get away from me. I really am having a hard time trying to interact with Tony. Every day is a challenge for me just to keep from having a panic attack and to muster energy to do the adventures for that particular day. He wants to go San Juan Islands but because we didn’t start out normally we’ll see how the day progresses. He did laundry and showered at the park clubhouse. I drank coffee, brushed my teeth and threw on clothes because it was quite chilly in the RV. It was just too cool for me to take a shower and I didn’t feel we should put the heat on because it is expected to get warmer as the day progresses.

We took off to go to Panera so we can get some of our computer work done. On the way, we stopped at Bank of America to cash a check but the bank could not because it was drawn from Citi Bank. From the bank we went to Post Office to mail postcards and a package to Tina. Then we traveled onward to Panera. This Panera is different than our one at home because they limit their customers’ usage of Internet to 30 minutes…bummer! I’ll try to just take it easy and not bicker with Tony. We picked up a few items at Staples then decided since it was later in the day that we better postpone the ferry trip until tomorrow. We went to a local farm that was to act like a Michigan Cider Mill. It was fun but it wasn’t home although Falls City Farm had hot donuts and cider and it was yummy! We got home and flaked out doing odds and ends and I was trying to find the football scores but Tina had already given them to me by the time they flashed onto the TV. Thanks Tina! Later in the evening Tony was restless so we went for a walk around the local strip mall and wound up eating a late Thai dinner. We got home and watched TV to let the food digest. I felt guilty because I know this isn’t how Tony wanted to spend his day. He wanted to get out on a ferry and sight see. He wants to see things that he has never seen. He was a good sport and told me that he enjoyed his day but I wonder if he just said it to spare my feelings. Despite, everything I enjoyed my day and I do so hope that Tony did too.

Tony’s Notes
I thought it was a relaxing day. We had a busy day, the day before, and because I had the margaritas the day before, I move much more slowly the next day. We mostly did chores and relaxed. I knew that to take the ferry over to the San Juan Islands, it would be a very full day from early morning. I really wanted to take a ferry over to Vancouver Island, but that really needed to be an overnighter, and come back on a ferry the following day.

The local farm was fun. They were an organic place and you could walk out and pick your own produce. They had pumpkins and activities going on for families. There was a group of singers picking at guitars and banjos. That was fun. Like Carolina said, it was like going to an apple orchard or cider mill back home this time of year; but it was close.
