September 24th - 1st Full Day in Seattle, WA

Carolina’s Notes
We slept in due to the lateness we got to bed and our cocktails we consumed. No matter we are on our own clocks…oh the joy!! We got up and threw clothes on to enjoy coffee before going to swim. I needed to get my bearings before submerging into a pool. We had coffee and breakfast at home, which gave me an opportunity to check emails. I haven’t had the chance for three days so that task is done and emails are current. I’ve had my coffee and ate breakfast now on with my day.

We went for a swim and soak in the hot tub. Everything was great until I somehow got oil/grease on my swimming suit and me. Please don’t ask me how because I haven’t the foggiest idea how grease got there. It took me more time than expected to enjoy the swim and get ready to go to downtown Seattle. I was less than amused. My poor husband again was waiting for me to get ready just to go out. I really was disturbed about this situation but had to maintain my composure in order to not waste anymore time. I finally got ready and left my swimming suit to soak and we were off. I did appreciate Tony’s understanding because the aquarium wasn’t going to stay open for me. The aquarium closes at five o’clock. It was already two o’clock and I didn’t want to feel rushed during my visit. Well anyway, we got to downtown and parked in the same spot as yesterday then rushed to the aquarium. I enjoyed it immensely!! I felt like I was submerged with Nemo the character in the movie ‘Finding Nemo.’ We clicked several pictures most were taken on my phone because the camera was running low on battery power. Well once we finished the tour of the aquarium we wanted to eat so we got some clam chowder at ‘The Fishermans Restaurant & Bar.’ We wanted to walk off some of our food so we walked further down the waterfront. We stopped at a ridiculous store that contains unusual things such as shrunken heads. It totally creeped me out and please don’t ask me the name because I don’t know and am trying to forget what I saw. We decided to make our way back toward our car and wanted to sample some tea at this tea store. The name of the store is ‘Vital T-Leaf.’ We had a blast! The gentlemen who waited on us taught about the proper way to make tea and other useful knowledge. I enjoyed all but one and forgive my forgetfulness because I don’t recall the name. Anyway, if you are ever in Seattle visiting ‘Vital T-Leaf’ is time well spent. Tony purchased some teas for our home consumption. It cost more than we would have liked to pay but we bought despite this fact. We were both forgetful about asking these establishments to stamp our parking so it cost us in the end. The parking garage raped us if you ask me; we were charged seventeen dollars to park for four hours. Seriously, this was highway robbery! There isn’t another garage because the same company owns them all because we inquired. If I could get over this height and hill issue then I would ride my bicycle. Anyway, we learned our lesson. On our way home, Tony took a different way and wound up going out of his way. We wound up touring the residential parts of Seattle. The residential neighbor hoods were beautiful but the hills were a deterrent for me. I really don’t know how folks can live on eighteen to twenty percent grades. Well, thank goodness for our Verizon cell phone and its navigation system. Our system we affectionately call Lola (yes just like in the movie RV because you stick with what works) got us heading the right direction and we were home within minutes. I’d like to say that I thought Detroit was a big city but Seattle’s city life is quite different; Seattle definitely has a different rhythm than what I’m accustom. That’s all I’m going to remark about that. Once at home, I started tying up loose ends such as rinsing my swimming suit and writing postcards. The rest of the night we plan on hanging out in Harry and finish our chores and resting. I need the rest and time to get my head in order for the next adventures with Tony.

Tony’s Notes
It was the Curiosity Shoppe. They had real shrunken heads, and mummified bodies. It was pretty creepy. The Vital T-Leaf was fun, but I spent sixty-seven dollars on Tea. So, I better start drinking tea.
